Well believe it or not putting a home on the market during the holiday season is a fantastic strategy to consider.  During this time of year many of the listings expire or are pulled off for a time.  This means that your home will have far less competition and get a lot more attention with the growing demand. Once the New Year rings in there is usually a lot of new listings hitting the market from those waiting until after the 1st.

During this time of year your home will look its best. It will be nicely decorated and full of those wintery smells that only come out of a home when all that delicious baking is happening.  Buyers will feel welcomed, warm and cozy walking into your home. This also means they will be looking at the neighborhood, which will also look its best with all the lights and decorations all around.

Another great reason to have your home on the market during the holidays is that during much of the year buyers are restricted during the week with work and travel schedules.  During the holidays people get some good time off, take vacations and are able to spend a lot more time looking around and getting to know the area. They are also able to spend more time looking for homes online as well.

With all that, one of, if not the best reason to list your home now is that you know that buyers that are looking for and touring homes over the holidays are serious buyers and are actively looking to make an offer.  With the higher demand and less competition, it could very well be your home.
