Step up to the plate...
The banks played a major role in creating tremendous turmoil within our economy. Like most everyone, they enjoyed many years of profit and gain by engaging in the major media blast that convinced our society they can have it all, just sign here!
While the economy continues its struggle to recover, most banks are once again enjoying huge profits. Unfortunately, they are not stepping up to the plate to relax their lending requirements. They are hoarding their money and being overly cautious at a time when they should be taking chances to do their part to revive our failing economy.
There is a big opportunity for a lending institution to “Step up to the plate and deliver a home run.” The first bank that relaxes their lending requirements allowing more people to purchase a home, will be viewed in a very positive way by our society.
I am not saying they should revert back to lending to people who would be a high risk, for that would not benefit the bank or the consumer. What I am saying, is they need to relax their current requirements just enough to allow more people to qualify.
If each bank would do the same thing, our economy would get a boost that could cause a chain reaction. Most people do not realize how many jobs are interrelated to the building industry. Builders, truckers, materials, advertising, bankers, Realtors, plumbers, electricians, etc. the list just goes on and on. I know our local economy in Charlotte, NC as well as the rest of our nation would see a great decrease in unemployment if those jobs were revived.
Calling all banks and other lending institutions, it’s time to make amends with our country! Who will be the first to... “Step up to the Plate?”
